By accessing counselling services through Zahra Counselling, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are in place to protect your rights, support transparency, and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
1. Eligibility
Counselling is offered to adults aged 18 and over.
2. Confidentiality
Your sessions are strictly confidential.
Information you share will not be disclosed to others without your consent, except in the following cases:
If there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others
If required by law or safeguarding protocols
If there is disclosure of abuse involving a child or vulnerable adult
In line with best practice, your counsellor may discuss aspects of your work anonymously in clinical supervision.
3. Safeguarding
Zahra Counselling follows safeguarding policies in line with iCounselling and operates under the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Any concerns about safety will be addressed sensitively, and action will be taken only where necessary to protect individuals at risk.
4. Session Format
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place online or in person, depending on agreement.
You may access up to 6 free sessions, subject to availability and ongoing suitability.
5. Cancellations & Missed Sessions
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are not refundable.
Missed sessions (no-shows) will also not be refunded.
Exceptions may be made in genuine emergencies, at the counsellor’s discretion.
6. Faith-Based & Inclusive Practice
Zahra Counselling offers a faith-sensitive space, with a focus on supporting Muslim women.
However, all clients from any background are welcome, and your beliefs and values will be respected at all times.
7. Data Protection
Zahra Counselling is committed to GDPR-compliant data handling.
Your information is stored securely and used only for therapeutic purposes.
8. Complaints or Concerns
If you have any concerns about the service, please raise them with your counsellor directly in the first instance.
Zahra Counselling operates under iCounselling policies and aspires to future BACP accreditation, following their professional standards and complaints process where applicable.
